Serving Up a Brighter Future: How Riverside Tennis Complex is Transforming Vero Beach's Youth

It was an honor to be invited as a Special Guest to the first "Kids and Family Day" on August 26th at the Riverside Tennis complex managed by the United States Tennis Association - Florida (USTA FL). This was their official kick-off for the Fall program season.
After a brief opening ceremony these young children went to the courts. And what a joy it was to watch them swinging their racquets, hitting the tennis balls, smiling and laughing.
With statistics pointing to increased mental health problems experienced by our younger generation it is more important than ever to offer programs such as this to support the healthy mental, emotional, social and physical growth of our youth. Science affirms these benefits.
The following is from Nick Liguori, an 18 year resident, avid tennis player, and 2022 USTA Florida Volunteer of the Year:
"I approached Honey Minuse over two years ago concerning the hardly used public City run tennis courts at Riverside Park. With Honey’s help, vision, and hard work with USTA Florida, the City staff, the citizens of Vero Beach and the City Council, an agreement was reached for the Riverside Park tennis courts to become professionally managed by USTA FL. It is now more vibrant serving our youth and citizens of Vero Beach. This venture will save the City of Vero Beach thousands of dollars each year. Honey was very open and transparent throughout the whole process.
Honey’s knowledge of our city is immensely valuable. Her contacts on the local and state level can’t be matched. Honey Minuse has my 100% support to continue her service on City Council."
I am so grateful for Nick Liguori’s outreach and for the opportunity to help make this possible. It is an example of what I accomplish because of good, long-term relationships in the community. And with your support I will continue to serve our City in ways to benefit our future generations.
Please consider a contribution to my campaign. These funds will help me reach the City voters with the message that my public service work for our City has been and always will be proactive.
Individual contributions may be in any amount up to $1,000.
